It's a sad day in my town

Today, a historic land mark caught fire along with 3 other buildings. Other buildings in town were damaged.

I think this pic came from Heraldmail.com. I snagged it off a friends myspace page

This was the view from our porch before we walked up to town

Icy morning

I am a little late posting these pictures. Just havent been in the mood. When we had some mixed rain, snow, sleet, and freezing rain, I decided this would be a good day to go out and shoot. A lot of the pics I took were a little blurry because I was shivering. It was pretty cold that day but there were some pretty sights. I spent an hour down by the pond and following the stream through the feilds. It was actually a relaxing hour. It was quiet and peaceful. No phone, no tv, no computer, no demands. Very nice.

Family Portraits

Family portraits are always a stressful experience, even for us seasoned photographers. They are actually harder for us than regular sittings. We know what we expect of ourselves and our family members. Now, for a sitting for one of my customers, in the camera room, we spend about a half hour. Not us. We are in there for hours. At least two. Last year, Etta and I did pics for Tom for Fathers Day and we spent three. Well anyway, after two hours, and 62 shots, we got our portraits. Here are the ones we are handing out.

Oh Crap

Hee Hee. Funny story. Not Atypical around here for something like this to happen.
Etta and I were looking around on the welcome screen earlier this afternoon and there was a story about up coming nail trends. They were showing different pics of nail art and decals for artificial nails as well as full nails with the art on them that you can buy at drug stores. Knowing she cannot get acrylics, she asked for the fancy, already done nails. The ones she wanted had little skulls on them. I said sure, thinking I would never find them at KMart which was where I was headed anyway. Well, low and behold, they had them. Ok. I already said yes. So, we get home and shes all excited. I go to put the first one on. Now, you know, its amazing what can happen in 1 second. We have all the nails out, ready to put them on. Etta, i think, knocks them around, yanks her hand out of mine, the nail with glue comes loose, begins to fall on my kitchen table, i catch it with my right index finger. The nail is stuck to my finger and i realize the glue is on it, i go to pull it off and cant. Now, my thumb and index finger of my left hand is stuck to my right. Now all this was in like 1.5 seconds. LOL. So, now, here i am with my fingers glued together, Etta is laughing like a loon, and I have to tell Tom he needs to drive to the store for me. Oh lord. Bless his heart he just shook his head and asked me what i needed. Obviously, i am unglued, Etta has her nails, and Tom gets a big kiss. Everyone is happy.
